Gannawarra Shire Council’s dedicated Outdoor Swimming Pool users have united to raise funds for the Starlight Foundation.
The Kerang Swimmers team – consisting of the Kerang Swimming Pool’s morning swimming program participants and Council staff – are on track to exceed their goal to raise $2,000 as part of the Starlight Foundation’s Super Swim program.
Occurring between 26 January and 24 February, the Starlight Super Swim aims to raise $1 million nationally to support Captain Starlight and Starlight Express Rooms services located at hospitals throughout Australia.
“Council applauds the initiative shown by staff and our swimming pool patrons to support this great program,” Gannawarra Shire Council Chief Executive Officer, Tom O’Reilly said.
“We know that swimming has great health benefits, and the Kerang Swimmers team are working together to improve their health and support children who need the help of the Starlight Foundation now and in the future.”
