Fremantle facilities and services to reopen tomorrow

City of Fremantle services and facilities will reopen tomorrow in line with the lifting of the COVID-19 hard lockdown and the state government’s transitional restrictions.

Fremantle Library, Fremantle Recycling Centre and Containers for Change refund point and the Fremantle Visitor Centre will all return to normal operating hours, and bookings at community halls will go ahead from tomorrow.

The pools and gym at Fremantle Leisure Centre will reopen tomorrow, but there will no swim school or fitness classes. Squad programs will resume tomorrow.

Netball, badminton and yoga at the Samson Recreation Centre have been cancelled.

Classes will be running at Fremantle Arts Centre and the grounds, cafe and gift shop will be open to the public, but there will be no Sunday Music concert. The galleries will be closed while the FAC’s next exhibition is installed.

The Moores Building Contemporary Art Gallery will reopen tomorrow, and Moore & Moore café will be trading.

An AFLW match between the Fremantle Dockers and West Coast Eagles will be played at Fremantle Oval on Sunday 7 February but no spectators will be permitted. The car park inside Fremantle Oval, car park 16 on Parry Street and the Cappuccino Strip car park on South Terrace will be closed to the general public for the match.

The City of Fremantle Administration Centre at Fremantle Oval will return to its normal operating hours of 8am-5pm Monday to Friday.

Fremantle Toy Library, Fremantle Community Legal Centre and The Meeting Place will also return to normal Monday-Friday opening hours.

All City of Fremantle facilities will adhere to the four square metre rule and have their capacity capped at 150 people.

All venues will have a QR code and all patrons will be required to sign in using the SafeWA app.

Staff will be wearing masks, additional cleaning will be carried out throughout the day and hand sanitiser will be available at the entrance to all venues.

Playgrounds, skate parks, barbecues and recreation facilities will reopen, but residents are reminded of the need to wear a mask at all times except when engaging in vigorous outdoor exercise.

The Finance, Policy, Operations and Legislation Committee meeting at North Fremantle Community Hall on Wednesday will go ahead with capacity restrictions.

The City will continue to monitor the official advice and update our arrangements as the situation evolves.

Residents are reminded to adhere to social distancing and personal hygiene requirements and only use public facilities in line with state government restrictions.
