Macedon Ranges Shire Council is excited to launch a new edition of its popular Macedon Ranges Ride Guide.
Designed with input from the Macedon Ranges Cycling Club, Wombat Mountain Bike Club and local endurance rider Tiffany Winchester, the free guide features 18 road, gravel and mountain bike routes throughout the region.
The Ride Guide features rides for people who are keen to take up cycling, as well as routes to excite the most fit and experienced riders.
The new edition now features a gravel riding section, with rides such as ‘Riddells Revenge’, ‘Cobaws Joyride’ and ‘Plantation Prowl’.
You will also find a selection of new road rides exploring further reaches of the shire, including ‘The Ring of Kerrie’ and ‘Backcountry Explorer’.
A colour-coded grading system helps you identify which rides are suited to your fitness level, skill and ability. These classifications are based on a combination of ride distance, elevation and bike type.
Macedon Ranges Cycling Club President Brett Ellis, who also contributed to the Ride Guide is proud of the diverse cycling on offer in the Macedon Ranges.

The Macedon Ranges Ride Guide update is an initiative of the 2019-2029 Visitor Economy Strategy Action Plan (Years 1-2), to grow the region as a key cycling destination.
