This outage is required for the installation of a new control valves for the Capricorn Street Reservoir as part of the ongoing improvement work to allow the reservoir to be reactivated for the township of Clermont. As a result, 12 properties will experience loss of water supply for the duration of the works.

If there is any discolouration of water, due to these works, it is predicted to be limited to a small area within the block that is surrounded by the following streets: French, Powerhouse, Monash and Capricorn streets and all efforts will be made to lesson this impact.  Additionally, there may be variable or low water pressure throughout Clermont during this time. Council recognises the discomfort if the above occurs and is attempting to avoid any impact where possible.

The affected properties will be notified via a letterbox drop.

Once the water supply has been restored, if residents experience instances of dirty water, Council recommends flushing tap water for up to five minutes or until the water becomes clear.

These works are part of the ongoing upgrade project of the Clermont Capricorn Reservoir and follows the installation of a new roof.

These works allow for a further 1.3 megalitres of potable water to be available for Clermont and will result in a more consistent water pressure level for the town.

Council apologises for any inconvenience and thanks residents for their patience.
