The community loves our parks, sense of community, shopping, and sports facilities, according to the Round 1 results of Cardinia Shire Council’s Imagine Cardinia consultation.
Imagine Cardinia is a community consultation process to help inform Council’s planning over the coming years with input sought on the Council Plan, Community Vision, Financial Plan, and Budget.
Cardinia Shire Council Mayor Councillor Brett Owen thanked the community for making almost 1300 contributions to Round 1 of Imagine Cardinia.
“We’re pleased that so many people had something to say about the future of our community.
“We’ve listened to what you have to say. We know the community likes our location and rural feel, parks and lakes, social cohesion, shops and retail, and sporting facilities. Our community has also provided feedback that they want a continued focus on parks and green spaces, upgrading roads, sporting facilities, waste management, and safety.
“This is all really valuable information that will assist Council to develop its strategic plans and guide the development of our shire over the coming decades,” Cr Owen said.
Feedback from Round 1 is helping the Imagine Cardinia’s People’s Panel develop a proposed Community Vision and recommendations for Council Plan priorities.
Community feedback on the proposed Community Vision and recommendations for Council Plan priorities will be held from 17 February to 3 March as part of the Round 2 consultation.
