Rediscover your local library

Residents can show their love for their local libraries and participate in a number of activities to celebrate local library services over the next two weeks.

The Rediscover Your Library program will feature daily activities showcasing different aspects of Campbelltown’s library services.

“Libraries are so much more than a place to pick up a good read off the shelves, they are a community hub where people can learn new skills or find a range of important information,” Mayor George Brticevic said.

“Our libraries run programs which stimulate the imaginations of children and introduce them to reading, programs to help high school and HSC students with their studies and exams as well as connecting our older generations with technology and social groups,” Cr Brticevic said.

“I encourage all our residents to join our libraries and find out what’s available for you,” he said.

Primary school children aged 5 to 12 years can visit any library branch each afternoon from 3pm to 5pm and between 9am and 12pm on Saturday 13 February to participate in a treasure hunt and go into the draw to win a new library bag with a book-themed puzzle and a $20 QBD: Book voucher.

People who join the library between now and Friday 19 February will receive a limited edition library card featuring imagery from the 2019 Macarthur Nature Photography Competition and go into the draw to win a $50 QBD: Books voucher each week.

Local history librarian Andrew Allen will deliver a presentation on interesting stories and artefacts from Campbelltown’s past at a local history talk on Tuesday 16 February at 11am.
