The Barkly Regional Community has won additional time to submit feedback to effect change on alcohol restrictions in the Barkly Region at a hearing held in Tennant Creek last week.
Following the hearing, which resulted in the extended time for submissions, Mayor Jeffrey McLaughlin remarked "It's a great turn of events to see the commission finally giving the region a chance to provide authentic evidence and their lived experience to help inform the proposed restrictions. The community is united in working towards repairing the livability and reputation of the Barkly, whilst helping create a fair and balanced system that does not punish the entire region, but still works to limit the damage of alcohol abuse in the region."
Have your say by completing our short survey which can be found here. You have until midday Wednesday 24th February 2020 to have your voice heard and help effect change in the region.
