Cobar Shire is this week mourning the loss of local government icon Mayor Lilliane Brady, who passed away Sunday morning, aged 90.
Mayor Brady was a trailblazer for women in politics and in the bush, having served as Mayor of Cobar Shire for more than 20 years during her 40-year-rein in Local Government. In 2020 she was bestowed with the title of NSW's longest-serving female mayor.
A State funeral has been planned in Cobar for Friday, February 19. More than 150 Council employees will form a guard of honour as a final tribute to Mayor Brady.
