People can enjoy the scenic surrounds of the Australian Botanic Garden Mt Annan while participating in this year’s Campbelltown City Challenge Walk on Sunday 14 March.

The 6km walk will begin from 8am and starts will be staggered to ensure social distancing is maintained. The traditional 11km walk will not be part of this year’s event to ensure it can be held in a COVID-safe manner.

“I’m delighted to see this event back this year after it was cancelled in 2020 due to COVID-19,” Mayor George Brticevic said.

“This is a great way to spend a morning walking around the beautiful Australian Botanic Garden at Mt Annan and enjoy one of our great natural assets,” Cr Brticevic said.

“Whether you’re an experienced walker, someone looking for an opportunity to kick start your fitness journey or just looking for something to do with family or friends on a Sunday morning, then this is a fantastic event,” he said.

People can enter online at Council’s website until midnight Wednesday 10 March. There is a limit of 1000 participants for this year’s event and no entries will be accepted on the day.

The online event entry fee is $15 and there are a range of categories for participants to enter. .

People can enter as teams or individuals and winners will be announced via Council’s Website, social media and in the local newspaper. To ensure a COVID-safe event the presentation will not take place and trophies will be mailed directly to winners.
