MESSAGE FROM THE MAYOR

Colac Otway Shire Mayor Cr Kate Hanson has urged local residents to continue supporting each other during the five-day lockdown, observe the restrictions and stay safe.

“We know how quickly the COVID19 situation can change and we know how to look after each other,” Cr Hanson said.

“If you are concerned about friends and family, give them a call, make sure they have access to what they need and we will hopefully be able to return to relaxed restrictions again after the next five days.

“Colac Otway Shire has a great deal to be proud of and just as we have accepted the challenges of lockdowns before, we can do it again.

“Order a take-away and home delivery meal over the weekend if you can, support the local businesses, work from home if possible next week and if you do have to leave home, remember your face mask.

“Council facilities will be closed but the phones will be staffed during work hours, and our after-hours service will operate for any urgent inquiries.

“We encourage the community to monitor Colac Otway Shire updates via Council’s website at www.colacotway.vic.gov.au and Facebook page, and go to the Department of Health website at https://www.dhhs.vic.gov.au/coronavirus for COVID19 restriction updates and further information.”
