Talk, Read, Sing and Play with Busy Bags

First 5 Forever Busy Bags are the latest addition to Isaac’s First 5 Forever initiative for children under five.

First 5 Forever Busy Bags are the latest addition to Isaac’s First 5 Forever initiative for children under five.

These Busy Bags are free and have been created to allow parents, caregivers and young children 18 months to five years to connect and explore together at home.

Each month families can visit their local Isaac library or Pop Up @ The Park, borrow a picture book and take home a new themed bag with handy items to explore, play, build and have fun, as well as songs to sing and activities to do.

Isaac Regional Council Mayor Anne Baker said this new addition to Isaac libraries offers an opportunity for children, parents and caregivers to experiment and play together.

“Some of the activities include lacing and weaving, playdough, bubbles and more,” Mayor Baker said.

“Activities like these can help support our local children’s early language development and fine motor skills, while making memories.

“I would encourage our Isaac families with young ones to pop into their local library or Pop Up @ The Park, discover the fun activities and programs on offer and take home one of the Busy Bags.”

Isaac Libraries invites parents and caregivers to pick up their Busy Bags each month from 1 March 2021 until the end of August 2021.

There are a limited number of packs available, with one pack per family, per month so be sure to get in early.
