Mareeba Shire Council has endorsed a Shire-wide digital marketing campaign, to attract visitors to the region.
Council awarded a three-year contract to BANG Media to deliver a digital marketing campaign for key destinations in the Shire.
Mareeba Shire Mayor Angela Toppin said the campaign will commence in time for the peak tourist season.
“The marketing campaign will promote our wonderful Shire to those visiting the Far North and market the diversity by leveraging Mareeba as a gateway to the Cape, Savannah Way and Atherton Tablelands,” Cr Toppin said.
Mayor Toppin said the campaign was timely and would be a welcome boost for those businesses that have been feeling the effects of COVID-19.
“As COVID-19 becomes more manageable and people are allowed to travel around more freely, this campaign will aim to attract visitors from across the country to our beautiful Shire,” Cr Toppin said.
“Mareeba Shire has many amazing and unique places and the campaign will showcase all the towns across the Shire including Kuranda, Mareeba and Chillagoe.”
Marketing activity will be primarily geo-tagged and intent focussed advertising targeting mostly by the online market and social media.
Council will invest $25,000 per year for three years to market the region.
