Step up to clean up on 7 March!

Posted on February 22, 2021

Bring the family and step up to clean up Australia on Sunday 7 March.

Registrations for council’s annual Clean Up Australia Day (CUAD) event will kick off at 8.00 am at the Emerald Botanic Gardens entrance on Opal Street (next to McIndoe Park).

Participants will be issued with a clean-up kit, including bags for recycling and general waste, and allocated a designated site.

Don’t forget to keep any unique items you find and go into the draw for the ‘Most Unusual Item’ prize.

Return to the registration site by 10.00 am for a BBQ and refreshments.

Please wear a hat, sunscreen and sturdy shoes. Bring gloves and water if you can.

If you can’t make it on the day, you can make a donation to Clean Up Australia with 100% of the funds allocated to the provision of educational resources and clean up materials to community, school and youth groups all year round.

Clean Up Australia Day is the nation’s largest community-based mobilisation event. More than 18.3 million Australians have participated in a Clean Up activity over the past 30 years and over that time 36 million hours of volunteer time have been donated to Clean Up activities benefiting our environment.
