Bayside Local celebrates artists with a connection to Bayside
Bayside City Council 24 Feb 2021

There's only two weeks left to catch Bayside Local presenting at Bayside Gallery, Brighton. The exhibition celebrates the high calibre of work produced by artists with a connection to Bayside.

Now in its third year, the exhibition includes outstanding works from both established and emerging artists with the addition this year of final art projects from year 11 & 12 VCE students.

Schools participating include: Brighton Grammar, Brighton Secondary College, Firbank Grammar, Sandringham College, Star of the Sea College and St Leonard’s College.

Bayside Local launches 2021 Bayside Gallery exhibition program with an eclectic and energising array of works that range from traditional landscape painting to experimental abstraction, intriguing photographic portraits and creative and autobiographical film.

Bayside Mayor Cr Laurence Evans OAM is excited for residents to once again experience the exhibition in person and support our local artists.

“Bayside Local is a wonderful showcase of our creative local talent. I look forward to it every year,” Cr Evans said.

“Exhibitions like Bayside Local speak to Bayside’s unique sense of place and provide opportunities for people to connect with creativity and ideas across Bayside.

“2020 was a tough year for many including our artists but despite the lockdowns some wonderful art has emerged and we are delighted to see such a breadth of talent, both emerging and established.”

Bayside Gallery is an accessible space giving residents and visitors the opportunity to experience and enjoy art.
