Survey collects important data about council services and facilities

The Central Highlands Regional Council will survey residents from across the region next month to gauge their satisfaction with local government services and facilities.

‘We value the views of our community and are committed to continuously improving what we do and how we do it,’ Mayor Kerry Hayes said.

‘Every two years we run this survey to check in and see if we are meeting our community’s needs and expectations. This data is so important to us, so if you get the call please take part and have your say.

‘Results from the survey will help us deliver on our commitment to provide high quality services, infrastructure and facilities across the region.

‘We will also use this information to share with relevant bodies, like state government, and to advocate for better outcomes for our community.’

The biennial survey will be conducted via phone by Brisbane-based independent market research consultant Enhance Research. Phone calls will start on 8 March and occur over four weeks.

Survey participants are randomly selected, but will have a demographic spread across age, gender and location to ensure results are representative of the region.

‘We know your time is valuable, so this year the survey has been pared back to about 20 minutes,’ Mayor Hayes said.

‘The content of the survey has also been reviewed and redesigned to ensure we are getting the most useful data possible.’

Phone calls will generally occur between 4.00 pm and 8.00 pm on weekdays, as this is when majority of people are home. If it is an inconvenient time for you, please just let the caller know and an appointment can be made for another time.

If you don’t receive a phone call, there will be an opportunity to answer the same questions and leave feedback online via council’s engagement platform Have Your Say, Central Highlands. The online survey will also open on 8 March and close 1 April.

Results will be collated by Enhance Research and made public via council’s website in July.
