The sky’s the limit for Armidale Airside Business Park as stage one takes off with anchor tenant, Outlook Property Services, to establish a prominent service centre with fuel and food outlets.

New occupant, Outlook Property Services, has secured a premier position at the entrance to the precinct on the New England Highway, to construct a modern service centre experience for travellers, connecting through to convenience food outlets and rest areas.

Armidale Regional Council Mayor Ian Tiley said the sale of the service centre is a major step in building economic momentum for the Armidale region.

“The service centre is expected to introduce more than 40 full-time employment opportunities to Armidale when fully operational, and will complement other potential investments at the precinct.”

The centre is expected to include 24-hour service, branded food outlets with drive-thru, rest and fatigue facilities, internal food court, outdoor food areas and caravan and trailer parking facilities.

“The architectural design of the service centre really sets the tone for other developers and businesses considering investing in the region,” said Cr Tiley.

“The premium airside fully serviced and NBN ready lots offer flexible sizes, B-Double access and are competitively priced. It’s very attractive commercial property that will bring new industry to the region, create jobs and provide much needed economic stimulus, particularly as we plan for a new world post pandemic,” he said.

Outlook Property Services Chief Executive Officer Peter Breckenridge said the prospect of investing in the Armidale region is exciting.

“Armidale is strategically placed, half-way between Sydney and Brisbane and has one of the highest forecasts for population growth over the next twenty years in regional NSW.”

“These attributes, combined with the region’s educated workforce and renewable energy resources, make it an attractive place to invest,” said Mr Breckenridge.

A development application for the multi-million dollar investment is imminent, and Council is currently in negotiations with a number of other potential investors for light industrial land lots at Airside Business Park.

Sale of the land to Outlook Property Services is one of the first of 24 lots to be released on the market under Stage 1 development. The precinct is well exposed to the New England Highway, a visible thoroughfare at the entrance of town and over one million vehicular movements per annum.

The development is a key pillar of Council’s economic development strategy and has been made possible with a $6 million grant from the NSW Government Growing Local Economies Fund to install roads, water mains, telecommunications, National Broadband Network and other infrastructure at the site.
