Cardinia Shire Council is throwing its support behind outdoor dining with a new promotion to showcase local venues.
Cardinia Shire Council Mayor Councillor Brett Owen said the promotion was designed to build awareness and increase traffic for local venues doing it tough during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The new initiative is funded by the Victorian Government’s Outdoor Eating and Entertainment Package.
“No doubt about it, hospitality has borne the brunt of the pandemic and changing restrictions. So many businesses and venues have worked so hard to ensure they’re COVIDSafe whether that’s QR codes, sanitising, physical distancing, outdoor dining, you name it,” said Cr Owen.
“Their agility, creativity and resilience is to be commended. Now it’s time to show these businesses we’ve got their back and the best way to do that is get out and about and show some local love,” said Cr Owen.
“Whether you’ve got a favourite outdoor spot for breakfast or coffee, a hotel with a great beer garden or alfresco fine dining with a view - we want to know about it!”
