Gympie Regional Council has adopted Amendment Package 2 to the Gympie Regional Council Planning Scheme 2013 (version 3.0).
This amendment package provides residents with more flexibility in a number of key areas such as zoning, and associated development application requirements in a number of specific locations, dual occupancies, home based businesses and assessment levels for health care services in Tin Can Bay and Rainbow Beach.
“Most residents are unaware of how exhaustive the planning scheme amendment packages are,” said Gympie region Mayor Glen Hartwig.
“The adoption of the package today has been more than two years in the making.
“The intent of the package is to provide residents of our region with more flexibility and clarity around some key planning criteria.
“It also provides some provisions for council to plan for, and provide infrastructure, with more effectiveness,” Mayor Hartwig said.
Amendment Package 2 will take effect from 15 March 2021. Please find attached a fact sheet relating to Amendment Package 2 for your information and reference.
