Central Highlands’ Mayor Kerry Hayes has welcomed today’s announcement that Alliance Airlines will now offer public seats on its Sunshine Coast to Emerald route.
The new non-stop commercial service will start on 1 March 2021 and will operate twice a week.
Mayor Hayes said this was great news for the region.
‘Connectivity to the south-east is vital to our economy and lifestyle,’ he said.
‘This new service opens up our tourism and business opportunities but will also allow locals easier access to medical specialists, holiday destinations and quality time with family and friends.’
Seats on all new services are limited and are subject to availability.
