The Mayor is away this week so we’re providing an update from Council.
Delegate Community Meeting
Council is holding a community meeting at the Delegate School of Arts from 5.30pm–7pm on Tuesday 9 March 2021.
The meeting is to discuss the water supply options study for the Delegate Water Treatment Plant upgrade.
We look forward to speaking with the community and encourage residents of the Delegate area to attend and have their say on this important project.
Showtime!
Great news that some of our shows are still able to go ahead this year.
The 77th annual Dalgety Show is on at the Dalgety Showground this Sunday 9 March. A newly overhauled pavilion will be making its public debut this year, housing all the flowers, baked goods, veggies, art and crafts, photography, condiments and homebrew exhibitions and competitors.
There have been minor amendments to the program to ensure compliance with COVID guidelines, but almost all regular events are going ahead.
The Bombala show will be held on 20 & 21 March 2021.
Thanks to all the show committees for their extra hard work during this period where events are being postponed and cancelled due to COVID-19.
Council Office Customer Service Hours
Just a reminder to our residents that all four Council offices now have the same customer service hours.
Cooma’s hours have this week changed to match the hours at Berridale, Jindabyne and Bombala.
All offices are now open from 8.30am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday. Payments can be made until 4pm each day.
Outside of business hours the community can contact Council via the 24/7 customer service line on 1300 345 345.
EOI Bushfire Recovery Weed Control Program Closing this Week
Are you directly impacted by the 2019-20 bushfires and having difficulties managing weeds on your property?
We have been able to extend the deadline for EOIs in the control program until Friday 5 March 2021.
Council has secured grant funding from NSW Local Land Services to manage priority weed infestations on properties affected by the bushfires and will use this for the program.
To lodge an EOI, check our website for details, email [email protected] or drop into a Council office to obtain an expression of interest form.
Brett Jones from Council’s Biosecurity team can be contacted on 0427 419 177 for further information.
