Looking to try something new this March?
Check out Wyndham City’s What’s On calendar for a jam-packed month of free sports and activities for people to try, including come and try days at several sporting clubs, pram walking groups, Zumba classes and more.
Wyndham City Active City portfolio holder Peter Maynard said it was a great opportunity for Wyndham locals to try something new or resume a sport or activity they haven’t done for a while.
“As someone who attends the Wyndham Vale parkrun every weekend, I know the benefits of getting out and being active,” Cr Maynard said.
“There’s something for all ages and fitness levels – all you have to do is give it a go!”
Cr Maynard said the month of activities coincided with the launch of the Get Active Kids Voucher Program, which helps children access a wide range of sport and recreation activities by funding part of the sign-up costs.
“Up to $200 per child aged between 4 and 18 can be claimed for membership and registration fees, new or second-hand equipment and uniforms, providing they meet the eligibility criteria,” Cr Maynard said.
