Three Wyndham sporting pavilions are set to get a revamp.
Wyndham City has awarded the construction contracts for three sporting pavilion upgrades at Cambridge Tennis Club, Wooten Road Reserve and Haines Drive Reserve at this week’s Council meeting.
Wyndham City Active City portfolio holder Peter Maynard said construction on these three pavilions will begin in the coming months.
“Once complete, these upgraded pavilions will provide a new home for the sporting clubs that use these reserves and will also allow for more use by community groups, schools and non-for-profit organisations during non-peak times,” Cr Maynard said.
“These works are part of a Council plan to upgrade 14 Wyndham sporting pavilions in line with the Sports Facility Capital Development Guide.”
“We’ve already completed three of these important projects – including the new $2 million sports club and community pavilion at Galvin Park Tennis Club, an extension of Point Cook’s Featherbrook Reserve Pavilion and the upgraded Dunnings Road Reserve Pavilion, which now includes a larger community space, kitchen and storage areas.”
“A further seven sporting pavilion upgrades across Wyndham are currently in the detailed design phase, with construction of these to be phased over the next two to three years.”
