Time to talk tech and be empowered

Harnessing today’s technology to empower women in regional communities will be the focus of a free session at Clermont Library this month.

Harnessing today’s technology to empower women in regional communities will be the focus of a free session at Clermont Library this month.

As part of Queensland Women’s Week, Isaac Regional Council is bringing technology to the forefront with Empowering women with technology.

This session provides introductory-level assistance around device usage, digital citizenship and the importance of online safety.

Mayor Anne Baker said the Clermont session hopes to elevate, educate and empower women in the community to utilise technology in their lives.

“This is a fantastic opportunity as regional areas are increasingly becoming more digitally inclusive in the way we use and learn technology,” she said.

“Through workshop sessions like this one, we can discover the best ways to stay safe online and stay connected to our friends and family.

“Attendees will also be provided with information on the services offered by Isaac Libraries and will have full assistance in navigating the amazing e-resources on offer.”

The free session is on Wednesday, 10 March 2021 between 10.15am to 11.45am at Clermont Library, with light refreshments provided.

Bookings are essential by dropping into your local library or by calling Council’s Customer Service Centre on 1300 ISAACS (1300 47 22 27).
