Nebo residents and visitors are encouraged to share their thoughts on one of the Isaac region’s most popular facilities next week.
The Nebo Showgrounds Masterplan InfoShare will be staged at the venue itself on 10 March, providing an opportunity for comment on the facility’s future.
Isaac Regional Council Mayor Anne Baker said the InfoShare will give the community a chance to share their memorable experiences.
“The showgrounds at Nebo is one of Council’s most utilised recreational facilities. It has several local community user groups and other regular facility hirers accessing it about 80 days of the year, attracting 20,000 visitors with an estimate a local economic return of $1.2 million,” Mayor Baker said.
“In order to better understand and develop the masterplan for this facility, Isaac Regional Council is asking the community what they consider is important to them for the future of this facility.”
Mayor Baker said the facility also hosts the largest one-day rodeo in Australia – the Nebo Rodeo - and is renowned for its bush sport events and facilities as well as social gatherings.
“This also spurs on the need for strategic 20-year plan to maximise the potential but also to enable management of the existing facility needs and renewal,” Mayor Baker said.
The Nebo Showgrounds Masterplan InfoShare is at 5.30pm to 7.30pm on Wednesday, 10 March 2021.
