Grab your towel, hat and sunscreen, and make the most of the refreshing water and shade at our local outdoor pools for an additional two weeks!
The Lancefield and Woodend outdoor pools will remain open after the Labour Day public holiday for an additional two weeks, closing on Sunday 21 March 2021.
This season has seen a significantly lower than normal temperature range over summer which has reduced our communities ability to enjoy the two outdoor pools. In addition, both facilities needed to close during the recent circuit-breaker shutdown period.
In recognition of this limited season, Council is extending the season with the hope that temperatures over the extension period will allow everyone to enjoy the outdoor pool experience with their families.
The outdoor pools will continue to operate under the Temperature Based Operating Guidelines during this period:
Monday–Friday (during school term 1, 2020) 26 degrees and above: 28 January – 9 March, 3.30pm–6pm (possible extension of hours past 6pm dependent upon patronage and weather conditions) 25 degrees and under – closed Monday–Friday (December, school holidays and weekends) 26 degrees and above: 7 December – 9 March, 12noon–6pm (possible extension of hours past 6pm dependent upon patronage and weather conditions) 25 degrees and under – closedOpening hours are determined according to Bureau of Meteorology temperature forecasts for Kyneton at 4.30pm on the day prior.
Council’s outdoor pools and indoor aquatic centres will be closed on Christmas Day.
