Speed limit reductions

Council advises that speed limit reductions will come into place tomorrow (10 March) along Carnation Drive in Mooroobool, and Timberlea Drive/Robert Road in Bentley Park.

Carnation Drive will be reduced from 60km/h to 50km/h from Balaclava Road to Beatrice Street.

Timberlea Drive/Robert Road will also be reduced from 60km/h to 50km/h, from Hardy Road to the Shelbourne Street roundabout.

The new speed limits offer greater safety, particularly for access to and from driveways on residential streets.

Council has introduced the new speed limits following a number of requests from members of the public and a speed limit review by the Cairns Traffic Advisory Committee, which includes Cairns Regional Council, Department of Transport and Main Roads and Queensland Police Service.
