Council is seeking to improve the Lithgow Street / Hassans Walls Road intersection by undertaking works including installing additional kerbs and medians to improve pedestrian crossing opportunities, simplifying vehicle turning movements and improving safety for cyclists.
These works will also reduce the confusion experienced by motorists in this area, and reduce the potential for motor vehicle accidents at the intersection.
The attached plan provides details of the proposed intersection improvements.
These works will result in vehicular traffic being prevented from entering the northern section of Hassans Walls Road from the Lithgow Street/Wrights Road intersection, with the installation of kerbs to assist in stream lining vehicle movements from Wrights Road into Lithgow Street.
Council is inviting members of the community to have their say on the proposed improvements.
