Support for Cairns Show

Council will provide $90,000 to assist with the staging of the Cairns Show.

The annual event, which attracts about 70,000 patrons and is considered a key event on the region’s social calendar, was cancelled last year due to COVID-19 restrictions.

This year, Council will provide $65,000 cash and $25,000 in-kind support for the Cairns Show, which is an increase on previous years due to additional costs associated with COVID-19 regulations.

Council has provided support for the Cairns Show for the past 25 years.

This resolution is to be ratified at the next Ordinary Meeting of Council, to be held on 24 March 2021.
