Incorporated not-for-profit groups and organisations in need of funding assistance to buy equipment or deliver a program, project or event in Maroondah are encouraged to apply for Council’s latest round of
Applications for funding assistance through Council’s 2021/22 Community Grants Funding Program and Arts and Cultural Grants Program opened on Tuesday 9 March 2021.
Applications can be made online up until the closing date of 4pm on Friday 23 April 2021.
Each year, Council offers eligible community groups the opportunity to share in funding made available through its Community Grants Funding Program, while also offering opportunities to community, arts and cultural groups through the Arts and Cultural Grants Program.
Council’s Arts and Cultural Grants Program supports a diverse and culturally rich Maroondah through community driven project, initiatives and events that increase arts profile and participation. These initiatives may focus on a wide variety of art forms.
The Community Grants Funding Program offers financial assistance under three categories: Community Development Grants Scheme (up to $5000); Small Equipment Grants Scheme (for requests of $750 or less); and Emergency Relief Grants Scheme (up to $7000).
Groups whose arts and cultural activities have the potential to enhance and contribute to the vitality and diversity of the arts within Maroondah are eligible for up to $5000 of funding assistance through Council’s Arts and Cultural Grants Program.
Mayor of Maroondah Councillor Kylie Spears said funds are granted to eligible groups with limited access to financial resources and who can demonstrate their service or program makes a positive contribution to the Maroondah community.
“This includes programs that will increase opportunities for community participation in social, arts and leisure activities, enhance community wellbeing, or a service demonstrating a community need within Maroondah,” Cr Spears said.
Last year, 64 community organisations benefited from $170,578 allocated through the Community Grants Funding Program. A further six groups shared in $22,380 through the Arts and Cultural Grants Program, helping to boost arts and culture projects in Maroondah.
“Council is pleased to be able to assist groups to develop and deliver programs, projects and events for the Maroondah community which might otherwise take years of fundraising efforts to achieve,” Cr Spears said.
Applicants will be advised as to the outcome of their application in late June and funding will be distributed during mid-late July 2021. Applications close on Friday 23 April 2021. Late applications will not be considered.
All grant applications must be submitted via the website.
