Be a part of the inaugural Macedon Ranges Autumn Festival and help us shine the spotlight on all that is great about the Macedon Ranges.
Council’s Director Planning and Environment, Angela Hughes said that Council has been looking for new and exciting ways to work with local businesses and support economic recovery as COVID restrictions continue to be lifted.
“March and April are a popular time for visitors keen to explore open gardens and the spectacular colours of autumn.
“The Autumn Festival will showcase local producers and businesses—ranging from music events and markets, to autumn inspired food and drink menu creations—we’re keen to promote and partner with local businesses and operators to deliver a unique and immersive Macedon Ranges experience” she said.
Whether you ‘autumn-up’ your retail window, promote an autumn-themed cocktail or pull together a cool autumn event, tour, exhibition or workshop – it all contributes to a festival vibe and provides an incentive for visitors—and locals too—to explore further, stay longer and spend more.
“We’ve already got a strong line-up of events scheduled and are looking for local businesses to join us as we showcase the beauty of autumn in the Macedon Ranges.”
As part of the festival, Council will be supporting five township events, which will include street closures, entertainment, and outdoor dining. These events will help bring the main streets alive and provide an opportunity for all local traders to get involved.
“We recognise that while timelines this year are tight, we’re keen to work together to get this off the ground, with a vision to grow it in future years and make it the signature event for our shire,” she said.
