Month-long Seniors Festival launches on 1 April
Blue Mountains 12 Mar 2021

After COVID-19 ended most events in the Blue Mountains in 2020, this year Blue Mountains City Council is pleased to bring the community a month-long program of events as part of the NSW Seniors Festival.

Launching on April 1, the festival delivers an impressive line-up of events ranging from Gypsy Flamingo dancing classes for the over 70s, to historical tours, to art exhibitions, to live music and movie nights. They all aim to provide a range of opportunities for seniors to come together, get active and explore some new passions.

Mayor Mark Greenhill said: “This year’s Seniors Festival is on track to be one of our best yet.  I strongly encourage all senior members of our community to come out, get involved and enjoy these events as we all take the month of April to celebrate older people in our community and the value they add to our lives.”

The annual Blue Mountains Seniors Recognition Awards, to be held on Monday 12 April, are an important part of the annual festival.

The awards acknowledge the contribution that individuals and organisations have made to seniors in our community.

Download the Seniors Festival Program for more information about which events and activities will held in April 2021.

All events will strictly follow COVID safe procedures, as is outlined by NSW Health.
