$100 million in development approved to help deliver affordable rental housing 

Development applications valued at almost $100 million have been approved by Liverpool City Council in 2020, assisting Liverpool residents needing affordable rental housing.

Mayor Wendy Waller said the approved developments will deliver 180 apartments for affordable rental housing.

“Housing affordability for many in our city has been eroded by static incomes, increasing living costs and the general uncertain economic environment," she said.

“We are highly aware that Liverpool is one of the fastest-growing parts of Australia and we are planning to meet the demands of that growth. But we are also very mindful that no-one in our community gets left behind,” she said.

The approved developments are:

$22 million: 4-6 Bigge Street, Warwick Farm, containing 52 apartments, all for affordable rental housing;$21.5 million: 1-9 Anderson Avenue, Liverpool, containing 63 apartments, including 34 for affordable rental housing);$21.2 million: 31 Harvey Avenue, 36 McKay Avenue and 61 to 65 Lucas Avenue, Moorebank, containing 76 apartments (including 28 for affordable rental  housing);$19.2 million: 23 to 29 Harvey Avenue, Moorebank, containing 58 units (including 27 for affordable rental housing); and$12.1 million: 127 and 129 Flowerdale Road, Liverpool, containing 39 units (all for affordable rental housing).
