Russell Island water supply restored

Council has located a broken water main at the Southern end of the island. The main has now been isolated and water supply restored to Russell Island, except two nearby properties that have been supplied with bottled water.

Crew plan to repair the water main tomorrow when it is safe to do so.

Council is investigating reports of low water pressure and no water in some areas of Russell Island.

Russell Island water disruption – Monday 22 March 2021, 5.07pm

The location initially reported as the site of a possible pipe burst at Moreton Outlook turned out to be gushing stormwater so officers are continuing to investigate.

Russell Island residents with access to drinking water should fill water bottles and store water now in case of further supply disruption.

Those without water will be able to access a limited supply of bottled water for emergency purposes at the Evacuation Centre: Where: Russell Island Recreation Hall, 1 Alison Crescent (near the ferry terminal) When: 5.30 to 8.30pm tonight.
