The much-loved Bayside Community Nursery is preparing to re-open to the public this weekend after missing the 2020 sales season due to COVID-19 restrictions.
The Nursery Gala Day will be on Saturday 27 March from 9am until 2pm, with a free sausage sizzle.
You can get advice about plants and for the first time, ‘Specialty Plants’ will be offered for sale at $12.50 (150 mm pots only).
Volunteers have been assisting staff propagate a range of indigenous plants that are also grown for local parks and bushlands.
Sangeeta Mani volunteers on Saturday mornings, a new year’s resolution she made at the start of 2020.
“I’m happy to be volunteering at the Nursery, it is a good outlet from my corporate job – mindful, relaxing and you learn from knowledgeable people about what makes indigenous plants unique to our environment,” she said.
Bayside Community Nursery is located at 316–317 Reserve Road, Cheltenham. Customer numbers will be carefully monitored and payment will be card only.
