Fifield Road is closed – between Fifield and Tullamore due to water over the road. Water is still rising at several locations along this section of road and there is evidence of damage to the flooded road pavement.
All unsealed roads within Lachlan Shire remain closed to vehicles over three (3) tonne until 11.00am Thursday 25 March 2021, when the condition of the roads will be reviewed. Unless advised otherwise, roads will be reopened to all traffic after that time. School buses, Council road repair plant and Emergency Services are exempted, subject to normal risk assessment.
Please note that concessions are possible on request, for urgent transport activity on routes considered suitable to carry the proposed loading. Contact Lachlan Shire Council’s Infrastructure Services Department to discuss requirements for a concession.
Council regrets the inconvenience caused, however, the preservation of the road asset is of prime importance. Motorists are asked to use extreme caution when travelling in the wet weather.
Please avoid walking or driving through flood waters, it may be deeper and faster flowing than anticipated and/or the road may have suffered extensive damage hidden beneath the water.
For further information please contact Lachlan Shire Council Infrastructure Services Department on 02 6895 1900.
