Easter holiday fun returns to Gannawarra Library Service branches

Published on 24 March 2021

Families will be able to experience Easter fun at Gannawarra Library Service branches these school holidays, with in-house events returning thanks to the easing of COVID-19 restrictions.

Four craft sessions will be held at the service’s Cohuna branch and Kerang’s Sir John Gorton Library between Tuesday, 6 April and Thursday, 15 April, with staff looking forward to the return of this popular program.

“It has been more than a year since our libraries have been able to hold in-house events for local children, and staff are eager to resume hosting what is traditionally a popular program,” Gannawarra Shire Council Acting Chief Executive Officer, Phil Higgins said.

Children will be able to decorate porcelain plates at Cohuna on Tuesday, 6 April at 10am and at Kerang on Wednesday, 7 April at 10am, with a mosaic tile decorating activity occurring at Cohuna on Tuesday, 13 April at 2pm and Kerang on Thursday, 15 April at 10am.

“These sessions are designed for children aged six years and older, with children attending needing to be accompanied by a parent or guardian,” Mr Higgins said.

“Bookings are essential, with attendees asked to adhere to COVIDsafe measures in place. These include registering when attending, ensuring social distancing occurs and, most importantly, not attending if feeling unwell.”

Families who want to complete craft creations at home or on their Easter holiday are also catered for, with Easter bunny mask activity kits available from Gannawarra Library Service branches at Cohuna and Kerang from Thursday, 26 March.
