Isaac Regional Council advises Clermont residents of a planned road closure at the intersection of Tropic Street and Lime Street:

Between 6am Wednesday, 7 April and 6pm Wednesday 14 April 2021.

Tropic Street will be closed during the works. Traffic control will be on-site directing traffic via Capricorn Street. Motorists could expect minor delays.

Motorists are asked to maintain caution on the road during the works and to follow any directional signage in place at the site.

The road closure allows for the connection between the new water main on Lime Street and East Streets and the new water main on Tropic Street.

The road closure allows for open cut road crossing works over Tropic Street to take place.

These works will allow for the connection of the new water main into the 225mm Lime Street trunk water main on Tropic Street.

These works are part of Isaac Regional Council’s continuing construction of a new water pipeline along East Street and Lime Street.

The project is part of Council’s commitment to improve water service quality and delivery in Clermont.

The existing water mains have incurred a series of breaks and have reached their end of life.

Council has engaged contractors, Newlands Group to undertake the project which will construct new water mains to service the area.

Newlands Group will make contact prior to this occurring as residents and business may experience instances of dirty water following this procedure.

If this occurs Council recommends flushing tap water for up to five minutes or until the water becomes clear.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your patience and understanding as this important work is carried out.

If you have any inquiries or concerns, Newlands Group can be contacted on 0427880216.

If you require further information please contact Council’s Customer Service Centre available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on 1300 ISAACS (1300 472 227).
