Liverpool City Council’s Seniors Concert is returning in April to celebrate NSW Seniors Festival (13-24 April), the largest festival for seniors in the southern hemisphere.

An annual initiative by the Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ), NSW Seniors Festival is designed to celebrate the important contributions seniors make to the NSW community. This year’s theme is ‘In our nature.’

Held during the NSW Seniors Festival week this year, Council has reimagined its popular Mayoral Seniors Concert to incorporate live entertainment, a high tea and an expo of local businesses and services. The event will be held on Monday 19 and Tuesday 20 April 2021 at the Liverpool Catholic Club.

Liverpool Mayor Wendy Waller said Council was delighted to bring this event back in a new format to seniors across the Liverpool Local Government Area.

“This event presents an opportunity to foster connections between seniors and the broader community following extensive periods of social restrictions due to COVID-19.

“Council understands how important face-to-face events are for the mental health and wellbeing of our seniors community. Many members have told us they would like to see events like this return face-to-face and we’re pleased to be able to do this.

“The exhibition is an exciting addition to this year’s Seniors Concert providing an opportunity for local organisations to connect with seniors and showcase how their products and services could potentially improve their quality of life.”

Mayor Waller said the health and wellbeing of Liverpool’s seniors community is Council’s highest priority.

“We’re working hard to ensure the event follows COVID Safe practices and, therefore, capacity will be limited this year.”
