Town of Cambridge Appoints New Director of Planning and Development

At the Ordinary Meeting of Council held on 23 March 2021, the Council unanimously approved the appointment of Mr Brett Cammell to the position of Director of Planning and Development on a permanent basis.

Mr Cammell has been the Acting Director since October 2020 and was appointed to the permanent position from a very competitive field of candidates. Mr Cammell first joined the Town as the Manager of Planning Strategies and Economic Development in July 2017.

Town of Cambridge Mayor Keri Shannon, said that the Town was fortunate to have someone of Mr Cammell’s calibre to lead the Planning directorate during this important time.

“The council is confident that his careful and considered guidance on planning matters will stand the Town in good stead going forward,” she said.

“All the Councillors and CEO John Giorgi are looking forward to continuing to work productively with Mr Cammell for ongoing positive outcomes for the Town of Cambridge residents and business enterprises.”
