North Curly’s netball courts ready for the new season

Works to revamp the netball courts at John Fisher Park, Curl Curl have just been completed with plenty of time for locals to train before the winter season kicks off.

All 25 hard courts at the site have been resurfaced with the Plexipave sports surfacing system which is industry standard for competitive play. Nine of these were pulled up with new bitumen laid and adjustable net posts installed.

Manly Warringah Netball Association Secretary Cathy Hurditch said she is extremely grateful for the improvements to the new courts.

“The courts were badly in need of rectification work after continued use by over 5000 members for the past 10 years.

“The resurfacing allows the game to continue in wet weather with improved safety for players and officials while reducing maintenance for council.

“Investment in local netball gives women and men, girls and boys better facilities in which to compete and reach their sporting dreams.” Cathy Herditch said.

The super hub caters for both junior and senior training and competitions and compliments other courts across the peninsula including the recently completed outdoor multipurpose courts on Boondah Rd in Warriewood as well as the two hardcourts at Avalon Beach built last year, the Margaret Cliff courts at Forestville and another six at Lionel Watts Reserve, Belrose, completed in 2018.
