Meet Wyndham's Young Person of the Month
Wyndham City 31 Mar 2021

Wyndham Council Youth Services is excited to announce Bradley Gauci as the One Wyndham April recipient.

One Wyndham recipients are residents aged between 12 and 25 who positively contribute to the Wyndham community and are role models to other young people.

Each month Council selects a Wyndham resident to be awarded the ‘young person of the month’.

Winners are awarded a $200 gift voucher of their choice and other prizes.

April winner, Bradley, is an advocate for youth with disability and is determined to break down some of the stigma around intellectual disabilities.

“One in 20 secondary students has a diagnosed disability in Victoria, and I want to show my peers that everyone has strengths and talents that can be used to help other people and charities in your community,” Bradley said.

“I see my disability as a strength that allows me to see people for who they are and be more accepting.”

“Most people are happy to help and support young people with disability, but it’s up to us to be confident enough to ask.”

Bradley also volunteers at local Salvation Army and St Vincent de Paul stores, as well as Serendip Sanctuary and for Parks Victoria.

Wyndham City Mayor, Cr Adele Hegedich, said Bradley was making a positive impact on the community and is a role model for young people with disability.

“Bradley works tirelessly to support his community, volunteering for several local organisations and as an advocate for youth with disability,” Cr Hegedich said.

“Through his efforts, Bradley is helping to make Wyndham a more generous and accepting place to live.”

“Bradley is also a role model for young people with disability and demonstrates what you can achieve when you put yourself forward.”

“Wyndham City values Bradley’s contribution in making Wyndham a thriving and supportive place to live.”
