This is also a chance to meet the Urban Design team and talk about and offer your thoughts on the concept plan for the pocket park - so bring along your creativity!
About the projectThe open grassed area within the Leslie Street Shops is soon to be upgraded to create a pocket park for local community enjoyment, relaxation and connection. The Pocket Park will include a new plaza area with seating and shelter; a new raised pedestrian crossing connecting both sides of Leslie Street; new street trees and landscaping to enhance biodiversity, amenity and shade.
This project has received funding from the Victorian Government from the Department of Environment, Landscape, Water and Planning’s Local Parks Program and is also being funded through Council’s Capital Works Program.
Since 2008, Council has upgraded 111 parks and invested $35 million transforming the park network through the continued implementation of Brimbank’s Creating Better Parks Policy and Plan (2016).
