North West Queenslanders can expect a sunny long weekend ahead with perfect temperatures for outdoor activities. The BoM said a high over southeastern Australia extends a ridge over much of Queensland. The high will move slowly eastwards into the Tasman Sea over the next couple of days. For our part of the world that means sunny day ahead. For those camping, overnight temperatures will fall to between 19 and 22 with daytime temperatures reaching the low to mid 30s. There is a slight (20%) chance of a shower in the east in the afternoon and evening on Sunday with a chance of a thunderstorm east of Mount Isa in the afternoon and evening. Temperatures will rise again in the working week with a top of 37 expected by next Thursday in Mount Isa. Conditions will be perfect for this weekend's rodeo in Boulia with lows of around 20 and highs of around 34. Lake Moondarra is 71.24% full while Lake Julius is at 99.64% Similar conditions are expected up in the Gulf with sunny weather, overnight temperatures falling to the low to mid 20s and daytime temperatures reaching the mid 30s.
