Council is seeking community feedback on the draft Waste Management & Resource Recovery Strategy, available to view online and in person until 10 May 2021.
The strategy outlines how the Macedon Ranges Shire Council will provide leadership and empower the community to create a sustainable future by avoiding and reducing waste, and increasing the reuse and recovery of material resources for improved productivity and environmental protection.
“The Macedon Ranges community is passionate about waste and resource recovery,” said Shane Walden, Director Assets and Operations.
“In 2020, over 120 residents responded to the ‘Have your say on waste issues and opportunities’ survey, which provided valuable feedback about what is important to the community. Those responses helped shape the direction of the council’s new Waste Management & Resource Recovery Strategy (2021-2026), which is now available for further community feedback.”
Council has now endorsed the draft Waste Management & Resource Recovery Strategy for consultation and wants to hear your feedback before the strategy is finalised and adopted. The draft strategy will be available to view online or in-person at one of Council’s Customer Service Centres in Gisborne, Kyneton, Romsey or Woodend from Monday 29 March to Monday 10 May 2021.
