Blacktown Tennis Centre Stanhope is set to host the Interschools Tennis Team Challenge series from Tuesday 6 to Thursday 8 April 2021.
The tournament will be run by Interschools Tennis Australia and will see schools go head-to-head in 1of 9 tournaments of its kind to be offered to school-aged children across NSW in 2021.
Primary and high school students can register for the event at Blacktown Tennis Centre Stanhope. The tournament is an opportunity for players from grass-roots to the more elite to take on their peers in a social and fun tennis environment.
Players can sign up as an individual at www.myUTR.com and, once registered, they can ask their friends to join their team. If players don’t have a team of 4, Interschools Tennis Australia can help you form a team with players from surrounding schools.
Over the 3-day period there will be 12 matches played - 2 singles and 2 doubles matches each day. The aim of the tournament is to score points for yourself and for your school by winning a set!
Entry to the tournament is $139. Each player who signs up receives a welcome gift and there is over $50,000 in trophies, medals and prizes to be played for throughout the 9 tournaments.
Blacktown City Mayor, Tony Bleasdale OAM said it’s wonderful to see Blacktown Tennis Centre Stanhope recognised as a venue of choice for events like this.
“This is a great new concept for tennis and the perfect way to get school aged children interested in the sport,” Mayor Bleasdale added.
“There’s no doubt with school against school we will see some healthy competition to take out the series.
“Blacktown Tennis Centre Stanhope is a great community facility and we look forward to hosting more tournaments and events in the near future.”
