Looking for something to do these school holidays?
Free movies are back at Camperdown’s Theatre Royal.
Sonic the Hedgehog (PG) will screen at 10 am and The Secret Garden (PG) will screen at 2 pm on Friday 16 April.
Released in 2020, Sonic the Hedgehog stars Ben Schwartz, James Marsden and Jim Carrey and follows a small-town police officer who helps a blue hedgehog defeat an evil genius who wants to do experiments on him.
The Secret Garden stars Dixie Egerickx and Colin Firth, and follows the adventures of an orphaned girl who discovers a magical garden hidden at her strict uncle’s estate.
Corangamite Shire Manager Growth and Engagement Rory Neeson said free movies had returned after a lengthy hiatus due to COVID.
“We will be running a COVIDsafe event, with parents and carers required to register via a QR code at the venue and social distancing measures in place,” Mr Neeson said.
He said it was a relief to be able to provide school holiday activities again.
“The movies have always been really popular with families over school holidays and the Theatre Royal is a great venue.
“It is really encouraging to see community events and activities start to return to normal,” Mr Neeson said.
Snacks will be available for purchase at the venue.
