Works to improve the intersection of Keely, Lunghusen and Cohuna-Leitchville roads, Cohuna will begin on Monday, 12 April 2021, and will take eight weeks to complete.
The works, which form part of Gannawarra Shire Council’s Capital Works program, will realign the southern section of Keely Road and western section of Lunghusen Road, as well as realign the way both roads connect to Cohuna-Leitchville Road.
“The intersection of Cohuna-Leitchville and Keely roads is an important freight route for Cohuna, as it services vehicles accessing the Keely Industrial Estate travelling northbound,” Council Chief Executive Officer, Tom O’Reilly said.
“These works will improve safety for users of the Keely Industrial Estate and residents.”
As part of these works, the intersection of Keely and Lunghusen roads will be closed, with access to either road available during this period via the Murray Valley Highway.
“The closure of both roads will also enable this intersection to be sealed, providing all-weather access to either road,” Mr O’Reilly said.
“Cohuna-Leitchville Road will not be affected by these works, with the road to be open to traffic.
“Council thanks the Cohuna community for their understanding whilst these works occur.”
