Pre-school is a big and important step for a four-year-old. It helps them transition from home and/or childcare to a more school-like environment.

Northern Beaches Council boasts pre-schools in Manly and Balgowlah. In 2021, the NSW Government encourages and supports children to attend a structured and quality pre-school by fully funding two days of pre-school each week for eligible children in the year before kindergarten. Pre-school helps children by:

creating a life-long passion for learninghelping them develop social skillsencouraging the development of fine motor and sensory skillsfostering language development and vocabularypriming children to be creativeequipping them to cope with problem solving.

We followed one of our pre-schoolers through a day at North Harbour Pre-School in Balgowlah, to give you a taste of what they get up to. If you are interested in enrolling your child in one of our quality pre-school programs, find out how on our website.
