Young people in the Snowy Monaro are set to see more funding for community events, helping our region’s youth connect this Youth Week.

In March 2021 the NSW State Government announced $335,000 in funds to support events in communities across the state, with a share allocated to Snowy Monaro Regional Council.

“The Youth Week initiative has been hugely successful in past years in the Snowy Monaro, and the additional funds will ensure this year’s events are better than ever,” said Mayor Peter Beer, Snowy Monaro Regional Council.

Kicking off on 19 April 2021 from 9am to 12pm at Cooma’s Centennial Park, Youth Homelessness Matters Day will bring together the community and service providers with a BBQ and displays. Later that day in the Park, from 5.30pm to 8.30pm things will kick up a notch with live music and a movie.

On Tuesday 20 April 2021 there’s a skate park session at Berridale from 4pm to 6pm, on Wednesday 21 April 2021 there’s a pop-up cinema at Bredbo from 6.30pm to 8.30pm, on Thursday 22 April 2021 there’s a pop-up cinema at Adaminaby, and on Friday 23 April 2021 there’s a skate park session in Jindabyne.
