Kerang will host two days of circus, magic and comedy when Varietyville brings its Acts of Absurdity shows to the Gannawarra from Friday, 30 April.
In what will be the first performance supported by Gannawarra Shire Council’s Creative Gannawarra initiative, families will be able to experience the talents of award winning, internationally renowned physical comedian Daniel Oldaker and variety star Rani Huszar without having to leave the Gannawarra.
“Council is pleased to be supporting Acts of Absurdity, which will see a return of live performances to the Kerang Memorial Hall for the first time since 2019,” Council Chief Executive Officer, Tom O’Reilly said.
“As a Council, we are pleased to attract renowned performers to the Gannawarra, with Daniel and Rani to keep audiences entertained with masterful magic, chaotic clowning, preposterous physical feats, musical mayhem and hilarious hi-jinks.”
The frivolity will begin on Friday, 30 April with a free After School Street Activation to occur in Victoria Square from 4.30pm.
“Daniel and Remi will take their magic, games and circus performances to Kerang’s central business district, enabling residents to get a closer look at their talents,” Mr O’Reilly said.
The excitement will continue on Saturday, 1 May with the Acts of Absurdity show, occurring at the Kerang Memorial Hall from 6pm.
“This 45-minute show will see Daniel and Remi combine their internationally renowned talents in a show that audience members will not forget for a very long time,” Mr O’Reilly said.
Tickets are $10 for individuals and $20 for families, which includes two adults and two children 15 years and under. Children aged six years and under may enter for free.
Bookings are essential, which can be done online at www.trybooking.com/BPZWK or by visiting Council’s Customer Service Centres at Cohuna and Kerang.
“Due to COVID-19 restrictions, seating for the Acts of Absurdity show is limited, so those planning to attend are encouraged to book early,” Mr O’Reilly said.
“Those attending either event will be required to adhere to the various COVIDsafe measures in place. Most importantly, if you are not well, please stay at home.”
